Digital Pathology Showcase 2025

Digital Pathology Showcase 2025: Unlocking Interoperability

When: Thursday, June 26, 2025
Where: Main Auditorium, ECDP2025

Be part of the Interoperability Showcase 2025, a first-of-its-kind session at ECDP, where innovation meets collaboration. This premier platform will feature four consortia, each comprising at least three companies, demonstrating how their interoperable solutions are driving advancements in research and clinical care.

Please check the detailed program below:

14:40
Case report on interoperability in digital pathology: the Helios experience
Consortia 1 (Leica Biosystems, Indica Labs, Ibex Medical)

15:05
Breaking the silos and building interoperability for scalable digital pathology
Consortia 2 (Path Presenter, Paige, Barco)
This session brings together leading innovators in digital pathology—PathPresenter IMS (interoperability and case management), Paige AI (advanced diagnostic AI), Barco (medical display and QC solutions), and the MSKCC Pathology Department—to showcase a fully integrated, production-grade implementation supporting one of the world’s largest cancer centers. With over 5,000 slides processed daily and 60+ pathologists, MSKCC represents a high-throughput, real-world environment demanding reliability, speed, and seamless workflow integration. In the session we will showcase the features of the PathPresenter IMS system and its integration into Epic Beaker and AI models from Paige. Barco will showcase its vendor-agnostic SlideRightQA software and its integration with the IMS. Paige will highlight the role of AI in transforming digital diagnostic reviews, featuring applications such as the Paige Gastro Intestinal Suite and multi-cancer screening applications to assist with triage such as case prioritization. Additionally, the session will touch on innovative AI solutions like Paige Alba™ the first co-pilot for pathologists, along with the emerging potential of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency. This collaboration showcases a scalable blueprint for digital pathology transformation, grounded in open architecture, AI extensibility, and system-level interoperability. By eliminating silos and building bridges between systems, this implementation at MSKCC is a tangible example of how to operationalize the promise of AI in pathology—today.

15:30
Integrated Digital Pathology, Putting the Pieces Together
Consortia 3 (Roche, Ibex Medical, Barco)
For this showcase presentation, Roche will be demonstrating a full digital workflow from scanning, image management, integrated Ibex analysis with medical grade high quality monitors from Barco.

15:55
Breaking Barriers: Real-World Interoperability in Digital Pathology
Consortia 4 (Sectra, Leica Biosystems, Hamamatsu Photonics, Aiforia)
From glass slide to AI assisted diagnosis — five leading vendors in digital pathology (Hamamatsu, Leica, Sectra, Aiforia, Primaa) reveal how interoperability is transforming clinical implementation. Discover how leveraging industry standards enables seamless integration, empowering pathology labs to harness the best of every system for smarter, faster diagnostics.
